Get ready to
orderWe hope you're hungry, because the results are
in for the second Greater Lafayette Dining Poll!
The checks have been given and the doggie bags have been filled -
the second annual Greater Lafayette Dining Poll is over.
We received hundreds of votes from readers in the area. Some former
residents who remember the vibrant dining scene in Greater Lafayette
e-mailed their votes in from different states using
www.jconline.com.
There was a good mix of new and repeat winners from the 2002 poll.
There were also two new categories this year: Best Bar and Best
Breakfast Menu. They replaced Best Ice Cream and Best Doughnuts to
keep the categories at 17.
Now on to the results:
Burgers
Triple XXX
2 N. Salisbury St.
Freshness is the key to the popularity of Triple XXX's hamburgers,
said Triple XXX server Lina Sizemore. Made from 100 percent ground
sirloin and not ground chuck, the burgers are cut fresh on the top
level of the historic West Lafayette restaurant,
never frozen and made to order. They are dipped in flour before
they're made into patties. Employed on and off at Triple XXX for 16
years, Sizemore said the buns are set on the grill to give them a
crispiness.
